Fennel, Bronze - Foeniculum vulgare dulce rubrum

Bronze red feathery leaves have a mild anise flavor. White flowers from July until October. Height 3-5 feet.

USES: Leaves used in salads as garnish. Young stalks like celery and seeds can be ground for an anise substitue. Highly ornamental foliage. Attracts butterflies.
CARE: Grow in average well drained soil in full sun.
HARDINESS: Perennial. Zones 6-11. Will self-seed in the garden.
Fennel, Green - Foeniculum vulgare var. azoricum

Feathery, finely cut  leaves have a mild anise flavor. Celery-like stems form a swellen, edible base. Yellow flowers. Grows 2-3 feet tall.

USES: Leaves used in salads as garnish. Young stalks like celery and seeds can be ground for an anise substitue. Leaves and stalk base is used as a raw or cooked vegetable. Attracts butterflies.
CARE: Grow in average well drained soil in full sun.
